UIDAI lets users of Aadhaar cardsto change their address without the need for documentation. Aadhaar cardholders have the right to change their addresseven if they have not provided evidence of their identity.

New Delhi: The Unique Identification Authority of India has temporarily suspended a vital service which permits you to alter the address of your Aadhaar card's address, without documentary proof of address.

UIDAI allows those who have Aadhaar cards to change their address without needing any form of documentation. Aadhaar cardholders can change their address as long as they are willing to accept the authentication to the identity verifier. A verifier of address could be a relative, friend landlord, family member or even a friend who allows the Aadhaar card user to utilize their address as proof.

UIDAI has stopped using this feature. UIDAI addressed an Aadhaar Card owner via Twitter, stating that it is no longer possible to update the address on Aadhaar Card through an Address Validation Certificate was removed. UIDAI has asked an Aadhaar provider to alert the user that they have the option to update their address using a genuine PoA document.

Dear Resident Dear Resident: The address Validation Letter service has been taken off until the end of time. Kindly request your address update using another valid PoA document from the list https://t.co/BeqUA0pkqL
